Good afternoon,

I've spent the morning doing some Spring cleaning - washing windows, cleaning cupboards, that type of thing. Such boring stuff, but it has to be done. I'd rather be decorating or painting something! I have to make bedroom curtains using some Waverly Country Life toile fabric that I picked up for cheap at a consignment store. I think I bought fifteen yards for $50. This particular fabric is about $45/yard.

Here is a frame that I purchased for $2 at HomeSense. I printed a French Country landscape on my printer and framed it. I think it looks pretty good. I like the bright colors.

Good afternoon from Holly Cottage

Karen set my blog up for me and I've been so busy that I haven't had the time to write anything new.  It's so beautiful today here in Burlington, Ontario that I've been outside cleaning up leaves and twigs. The backyard is a mess. Ugh. I'm taking a break now...

I've been thinking that I want this blog to be mainly about French Country decor - which I absolutely love - and repurposing old furniture using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint as well as posting pics of my great flea market-type finds.

Here's a picture of one of my recent purchases that I found at a garage sale. I paid $5 for this fabulous rooster lamp. In this photo it is dressed for Christmas. What do you think?
